Hailing from Gary, Indiana, a place whose murder and crime rates have ranked it several times at the top of the "Most Dangerous Cities" list, Freddie Gibbs is the true definition of a street survivor. Raised on Gary's east side, Gibbs lived the hard life firsthand in a run-down industrial community plagued with vice and ignored by the establishment. Inspired by rappers like UGK, The Geto Boys and 2Pac, Gibbs started rhyming about his life and the issues facing urban youth in Gary and the countless other impoverished cities just like it.
His desire to rep the Midwest and his city led Gibbs to start recording mixtapes and pushing them online as well as the streets, where he quickly began garnering fans drawn to his original style, diverse flows, and deeply personal lyrics about his experience as a young black man growing up below the poverty line in a forgotten American city. Freddie has worked with respected producers like, Madlib, Statik Selektah, DJ Burn One, Cardo, Big K.R.I.T., Block Beattaz and Lil Lody among many others.
Despite all the changes occurring in the music industry, musicians, venus and promoters still have to worry about losing money on shows. That shouldn’t be the case.
Lasso.fm is the first ticketing platform to use a pre-sale method that allows artists and venues to guarantee sales before booking a show, ensuring everyone is happy. We understand that venues and promoters have a bottom line to meet, which sometimes makes booking hard. We’re hoping to help solve that.
Add leverage to your booking negotiations. Create and promote events; shows only happen if your ticket minimum is met.
Our built-in marketing tools help you socialize the show.
On Lasso.fm your ticket commitment helps the performing artists raise the money they need to do a show in your town. Each ticket purchased counts towards the ticket minimum, and if enough are sold then the concert is “ON”. If there aren’t enough tickets sold then we don’t charge you.
Don’t worry, we can help you spread the word about shows with pre-set Facebook statuses and Tweets.
